Coming to counseling for the first time, or for the first time with a new counselor, can be scary. We don't know if the person sitting across from us will understand us, accept us for who we say we are, or if they are safe to be truly open with.

It is important to me to create a safe, nurturing environment, where you will  feel seen, heard, and understood. In order for counseling to work, I believe that you need to feel safe with me in order to feel safe in exploring your own depths, and trust that I will hold space for this exploration.

This is why I believe in offering a no-cost 20-minute introductory session, where you can get a sense of me, I can get a sense of you, and we can decide if we will be a good fit to work together. During this first session we will briefly talk about what is going on for you right now, about your goals and dreams, and explore how counseling might help you get to the place you want to be.

Your first visit...

The pacing and process of counseling is driven by you. I will be a guide, but this work is your own and we will only explore topics as you feel ready to do so,

and at your pace.
